Eleonora Rubino was born in Como, 1983. She obtained a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Insubria, Como, Italy in 2006 and a M.Sc. in Physics in 2008 with a thesis project on “Generation and control of conical waves in optical parametric amplification”. In March 2013 she obtained a PhD in Physics from the University of Insubria, Italy. She has participated to several Laser-Lab Eu Projects at the laser facility of the Vilnius University (Lithuania, 2008-2011) and to many post-graduate Summer Schools on photonics, laser physics and analogue gravity (OLA, Crete -2007; STELLA, FORTH Laser Institute, Crete -2008; STELLA, ICFO, Barcelona -2009; SUSSP66, Heriot-Watt University, UK -2010; SIGRAV IX edition, Como -2011; STELLA, Insubria University, Como -2011. Before obtaining her PhD she worked for four months as a Research Associate at the INRS-EMT research centre of Montreal (QC, Canada -2012) in the UOP group of Prof. R. Morandotti with a project founded by a FQRNT scholarship. She is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Extreme Light group at Heriot-Watt University.
